New footage of the mythical Bigfoot seems to have been explained.
Earlier this week, footage was shared on social media which appeared to show a large "creature" walking with large strides.
The video was captured by couple, Shannon Parker and her partner Stetson Tyler, on a train in Colorado, and prompted a lot of excitement and speculation.
Sharing the clip on Facebook, Shannon wrote: "After leaving Silverton and heading back to Durango, I asked Stetson to help me look for elk in the mountains . As we are passing by the mountains, Stetson sees something moving and then says I think it’s Bigfoot.
"Brandon, the guy sitting next to Stetson on the train grabs his phone and starts recording. Meanwhile I am trying to get a photo on my camera. Below is the video Brandon @bt92.travels got and the photos I took.
"Y’all, out of the hundreds of people on the train, three or four of us actually saw, as Stetson says in the video , the ever elusive creature Bigfoot! I don’t know about y’all but We Believe!! #bigfootsighting #bigfootisreal #bigfoot."
There is clearly a big furry figure in the footage, but is it actually Bigfoot/Sasquatch?
Well, as you may have guessed, the answer is no.
In a community note added to a post sharing the clip, an explanation for the 'Bigfoot sighting' was provided.
The post reads: "This is located in Silverton in Durango. It’s part of a quite popular Bigfoot themed expedition trailer company called Sasquatch Expedition Trailers. The owner regularly dresses up as Sasquatch."
In fact, there is even a picture on the Sasquatch Expedition Camper's website of someone dressed in a Bigfoot costume.
The site states: "Like those in search of the legendary Sasquatch, we believe in searching for something more.
"We’re building a community of believers to create a supportive and inclusive space for adventure seekers, because sharing experience with others makes the journey and destination that much more rewarding."
Just like the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot continues to elude us then.
