Zlatan Ibrahimovic tells 16-year-old opponent: ‘Grow up’

JOE

After working his way through various forms of physical attacks on opponents, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has moved on to verbal chiding.

The PSG striker, who in the past has been sanctioned for kicks, punches, stamps and headbutts, has changed tack especially for Real Madrid starlet Martin Odegaard after the pair met in Sweden’s draw with Norway.

According to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, Ibrahimovic told the youngster to “grow up and become a man”, and suggested Odegaard’s father and agent Hans Erik “controls everything”.

Odegaard became the youngest ever Norway international at the age of 15, however he has already been surpassed as the Norwegian league’s youngest ever player.

He may yet choose to ignore the advice of the player twice his age. After all, another young Scandinavian, Henrik Larsson’s son Jordan, is doing perfectly fine by keeping his father close.
