The top 10 best-selling football shirts will be of big concern to Manchester United and Real Madrid

No sign of Liverpool

We told anyone who would listen that Chelsea had a great 2015/16 home kit.

The Blues have shot into third place in the list of most-purchased football shirts. Chelsea’s nifty adidas number sold 3,102,000 [give or take a few] in the past year.

That impressive figure is just behind Bayern Munich [3.3m] and Barcelona, who sold an insane 3,637,000 replica shirts this season.

Manchester United and Real Madrid, respectively, round out the top five. United sold 2.9m of their home jersey while the Champions League finalists shifted 2.8m.

While Barcelona have been the top sellers for the past four seasons, both Madrid and United have held top spot in the past decade. The one trend, though, is UP – most of the top 10 have seen sales improve.

Interestingly, Paris Saint Germain are in sixth place [2.1m] after a recent surge in interest. PSG certainly have a more global appeal after recent, high-profile signings.

Arsenal [2m] are next, followed by Champions League finalists Atletico Madrid [1.9m]. Juventus [1.6m] are next while AC Milan are just a shade under 1.3m.

Next season, we go again and there are plenty of great jerseys to choose from. Can Madrid and United keep their places in the top five?
