New Rangers signing appears to have deleted an old tweet professing admiration for Celtic

Awkward

Robert Redmond

This is awkward.

We all have old, embarrassing social media posts. Like, for example this tweet from Wayne Rooney in 2011.

Unfortunately, the Manchester United captain no longer tweets like this, and we reckon Josh Windass won’t be as quick to profess his admiration for Celtic in future tweets.

The Accrington Stanley midfielder has just signed a pre-contract agreement with Rangers, and will join the Glasgow side at the end of the season.

The 21 year old, son of Dean Windass, who played for Hull City and Aberdeen, appears to have deleted an old tweet which wouldn’t go down well with the fanbase of his new side.

Back in October 2013, Windass was watching Celtic’s famous Champions League victory over Barcelona at Celtic Park, and tweeted that he would rather play at the stadium of Ranger’s bitter rivals than any other in the competition.
Windass CelticIn fairness, the midfielder hardly knew at the time he’d end up playing for Rangers, and the atmosphere at Celtic Park for Champions League games is pretty special.

We hope the Rangers fans are as understanding.
