Former Brazil manager gets wiped out by opposition player

That's gotta hurt!

Tom Victor

Vanderlei Luxemburgo has had to deal with some huge challenges during spells as manager of Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team.

But football is full of surprises, and even he won’t have seen this coming.

Luxemburgo’s Cruzeiro team were beaten 2-1 by Palmeiras in the Brazilian Cup, but the 63-year-old will be licking his wounds for different reasons.

In the first half, the manager’s reactions were not quite what they used to be as Palmeiras midfielder Dudu careered into him on the touchline.

I know we shouldn’t laugh at a man in his 60s being knocked to the ground, but there are some things you have no control over.

In fairness to Dudu, he was quick to apologise. Unlike the Palmeiras fans.

It’s not quite Johnny Russell on Uwe Rosler. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hH4sh6itVFw Or Jamie Hammill on Derek Adams. Either you do this kind of thing whole-heartedly, or you don’t do it at all.
