Female MMA fighter forced to fight in heavier division because of her breasts

Brye Anne Russillo is set to fight on October 3 for the Aggressive Combat Championships 150lb title.

Rusillo normally fights at 155lbs, while her opponent Paige Lian’s usual home is at 145lbs.

When the fight was first booked, the difference in weight between both fighters led to a lot of discussions over what weight they should fight at. Rusillo, a pastry chef, recently spoke with mymmanews.com about her upcoming fight, and explained why she was unable to drop down to meet Lian at 145.

“I can’t cut my tits off and put them on the side, they weigh 12 pounds,” while explaining how she went back and forth with her opponent on what weight they should fight at.

To put that into perspective, here are a few things that weigh roughly 12 pounds:

  • A small turkey
  • 13 cans of baked beans
  • Six bags of sugar
  • A bald eagle

Rusillo admitted that she has received some backlash over her appearance.

“Everyone expects me to be a Barbie Doll. Bleach blonde hair and a big chest.”

Despite her “big chest” holding her back, Rusillo mentioned that she intends to compete at 135 lb for her next fight.
