England’s friendly against France will go ahead after Paris terror attacks

France is a country in mourning after terror attacks ripped through the heart of its capital city.

Explosions rang out just outside the Stade de France during Les Bleus friendly against Germany on Friday. This was the start of a deadly assault on the people of Paris which left 128 innocents dead and hundreds more wounded. France suspended all sporting events over the weekend in the Paris area in the aftermath of the killings. England's friendly match against France on Tuesday was thrown into doubt as the country comes to terms with the attacks. "The FFF shares the grief of the bereaved families and relatives." FA Chairman Greg Dyke said in a statement: “Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with the city of Paris after these terrible atrocities. On behalf of The FA, I want to express our sorrow and send our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of those who have lost their lives. “After consulting this morning with the French Football Federation and the British Government, we have decided together that the match between our two countries at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday night should go ahead. We will use the opportunity to pay our respects to all affected and also to express our solidarity with the people of France.”
