Bruno Fernandes bizarrely gifts chicken to Man United fan after Liverpool win

The strangest gift to receive

Bruno Fernandes was spotted gifting a Manchester United fan a piece of chicken after their 4-0 pre-season win against Liverpool on Tuesday.

United ran out comfortable winners in Bangkok after goals from Jadon Sancho, Fred, Anthony Martial and Facundo Pellistri ensured Erik ten Hag started his reign in charge of the Red Devils with a win.

It was one fans err… lucky day we guess?

Fernandes played a part in the win himself, playing the first half of the game, but it was this bizarre interaction off the pitch that caught more eyes, despite taking the armband in place of the injured Harry Maguire.

As the 27-year-old left the Rajmangala Stadium, a supporter noticed that he was carrying a portion of chicken, presumably as part of his post-match meal.

Without even needing to be asked twice, Fernandes came up to the fan and offered him a bite, insisting him to “take one”, which the fan gratefully accepted before saying that he would be “taking it home.”

Ten Hag impressed by United performance in dominant win

Although it is early days, new United boss Ten Hag was impressed with his side’s performance, but tempered expectations, saying there is still a lot of work to be done.

“We are satisfied today because I think there was a team with great spirit. We know we are just starting and when things begin to click like the press,” he told MUTV.

“We know we made some mistakes in pressing and conceded some chances but also we created a lot and I think our team played bravely, they were proactive and we had to work really hard to get out of some mistakes. Of course, we are happy with the first game.

“I have seen a lot of mistakes,” he added. “You would not say [when you look] at the result but, lets be honest, Liverpool plays in three teams. They were not at their strongest so we have to not overestimate this result.

“We have to [be careful] but still, I have seen some great things. We have potential.”
