Man United on course for quadruple after pre-season win vs Liverpool

The trophy parade has already been booked!

It’s over before the season has started. The Premier League title? Manchester United’s. Europa League crown? Manchester United’s. FA Cup? League Cup? Yeah, you know where this is going.

Quite simply, United are winning the lot this season, at least that’s what some of their supporters think after a 4-0 win against Liverpool in a pre-season friendly.

United are just too good…

Erik ten Hag’s first match in charge couldn’t have gone much better after they raced into a 3-0 lead before the half time break at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok.

Jadon Sancho opened the scoring after 11 minutes, before Fred channeled his inner Eric Cantona with a glorious dink over Allison. Anthony Martial and Facundo Pellistri also found the back of the net.

In fact, the result means that Ten Hag has already won the first accolade of his United tenure – one that will live long in the memory alongside other prestigious tournaments, such as the Audi Cup, or your local five-a-side league.

Definitely not overreacting

Any normal fanbase would accept that this is pre-season and results really shouldn’t be looked into too much, but this is Manchester United Football Club we’re talking about, they haven’t been used to winning of late.

With that, a number of their fans celebrated wildly on social media and believe that it is their year – suggesting that, come the end of the season, the club will have new trophies added to the cabinet.

“It took Ten Hag 1 game to end Manchester United’s 5 year trophy drought. Greatness,” joked one fan.

Another added: “We’re winning everything, even the IPL!”

A third fan said: “Manchester United is winning everything some under ETH this season. Mark this tweet.”

“Come thunder come heavy rain Man Utd is winning everything,” a fourth said.

We look forward to revisiting these views again in a few months time after a 1-0 home defeat to Bournemouth.
