‘When she disobeyed, I scolded her a little and you are attacking me for nothing’
Hasbulla Magomedov has spoken out after being accused of abusing his cat after a video was posted online.
Fans of the social media star described the clip of him disciplining his cat, Barsik, as “despicable” and some tagged the animal welfare charity, PETA, in the comments.
“The cat is literally scared of him, it flinches joke or not you don’t do that to animals .. its not a joke to hit animals so idk [sic],” one person wrote.
Hasbulla initially shared the clip on YouTube, but it was later removed and began circulating on social media.
It shows him pulling the cat’s ear and smacking it on the head.
The pet then moves to another room and jumps in a cardboard box, but Hasbulla follows it and appears to hit the pet two more times, causing the animal to cower.
Following the backlash, Hasbulla posted a video on Twitter where he defended his actions, saying that he had been gentle with his beloved pet.
He said: “Those brothers that think I was beating the cat. Pulled the ear, this n that. I pulled the ear gently.”
Hasbulla went on to say that he thinks people have been waiting for him to slip up: “And I know people are waiting for the moment if I write something wrong, or just attack me like this. Like, ‘you do this, you do that’.”
He explained that his cat was “misbehaving and I just pulled the ear and that’s it.”
“I love my cat more than you. If I didn’t love the car I wouldn’t have it at home. My most lovely animal is a cat. And when she disobeyed, I scolded her a little and you are attacking me for nothing.”
Hasbulla and said he didn’t “need to apologise”.
