Homenews

Horrific details are slowly unfolding about the true scale of the senseless killings on the streets of Paris.

French officials now believe at least 130 innocent people were killed on Friday night and more than 200 more wounded as suicide bombers armed with machine guns ran amok across the city. Security service believe at least seven locations in the French capital were targeted by the eight men who killed indiscriminately at restaurants, a theatre and even outside the Stade de France where France were playing a friendly with Germany. But among the horror and the tragedy there are stories emerging of survival against the odds. One man who managed to escape the attacks with his life spoke about how his mobile phone stopped him from taking a bullet to the head. The man, known only as Sylvestre, told French iTele: "This is the cell phone that took the hit, its what saved me. Otherwise my head would have been blown to bits. I wouldn't wish it on anyone." He showed the camera his Samsung phone which was smashed and dented from the bullet impact. He was also hit in the foot and was fortunate when a bullet grazed his ribcage, according to the Mirror. This was one positive story among the carnage and tragedy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLH5JeTWzx8
