People are losing it over this year’s dog-themed John Lewis Christmas ad

It’s become something of a Christmas tradition.

There are certain signs that tell you that the festive period is on its way. We know some people (and supermarkets) jump the gun as early as August, but when for example you start to see Christmas menus at restaurants, or talk turns to Secret Santa in the office break room, you know it’s not far away.

A relatively new but eagerly awaited sign is a new John Lewis ad. They have pretty much cornered the market as far as Crimbo commercials go, combining heartfelt visuals with sentimental song covers. Some find them a little emotionally manipulative, but others are moved by their emotive ‘storylines’.

Last year’s ‘Man On The Moon’ effort was a rare misstep, with not everyone being blown away with the concept and execution. It didn’t quite hit the spot like previous years’ favourites…

However, this time round it looks like it could be business as usual, as excited Xmas-heads are already completely enamoured with an advert they haven’t even seen in full – simply because it features a dog. John Lewis have released a sneak preview along with the hashtag #BounceBounce, featuring a little girl and cute canine…
