Watching four policemen forcing Chewbacca on to the bonnet of a police van while attempting to arrest the seven foot Wookie is one of the weirdest things you'll see today.

A man dressed as the Star Wars character was acting as chauffeur for a mayoral candidate - who is himself running as Darth Vader - in the Ukrainian city of Odessa. Upon failing to provide documentation to the police, the Chewbacca impersonator soon found himself in a spot of bother. Following his arrest Chewbacca was taken to a court and issued with a fine. He claimed that he was unable to pay the fine, stating that his funds "are in an intergalactic bank that has no branches on this planet," and was eventually released with a warning.
