One of the most beloved crime comedy movies ever is on TV tonight

Stephen Porzio

The cult film is a must-watch for fans of Pulp Fiction or Intermission.

Our TV movie pick for tonight (Tuesday, 7 May) is Go, the 1999 crime comedy movie directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow, the new Road House).

Comprising of three different interconnected stories, the film begins with two young women (Katie Holmes and Sarah Polley) desperate for cash who get in on over their heads after trying to pull off a quick money-making scheme involving a menacing drug dealer (Timothy Olyphant).

That’s before the movie shifts to the tales of a Las Vegas trip that goes horrendously bad and of two soap opera actors (Jay Mohr and Scott Wolf) busted for drug possession who are coerced by a police detective (William Fichtner) to entrap their supplier.

While not a box office success upon release, Go has gone on to develop a real cult following in the 25 years since its release.

And watching now, it’s easy to see why thanks to Liman’s incredibly stylish and energetic direction, the funny and brilliantly twisty screenplay from writer John August (Big Fish) and the film’s great young cast – particularly Holmes, Olyphant and recent Oscar-winner Polley (Women Talking).

For those who love the likes of Pulp Fiction, Run Lola Run and Seven Psychopaths, we’d argue that Go is a must-watch.

As well as airing on TV tonight on Comedy Central at 9pm, the movie is also available to rent on Apple TV, Google Play and Rakuten TV.
