Barack Obama to take part in survival show with Bear Grylls. No, really.

Coming to the end of his eight year spell at the Whitehouse, President Obama is now set to undertake a very different challenge.

In an announcement that sounds like a wind-up, NBC stated that the president will be appearing alongside *Bear Grylls* in a special edition of the reality show Running Wild With Bear Grylls, which will be recorded during a brief visit to the Alaskan wilderness.

President Obama will swap his seat in the Oval Office for a three day stint with Grylls, learning first hand about the effects of climate control.

Filming is said to be underway already in Alaska’s Exit Glacier, within the Kenai Mountains, reports the New York Times.

Although the British Isles don’t quite offer the same kind of wilderness as Alaska, we’re sure there’s plenty of JOE readers that would love to see David Cameron in a similar situation.
