Late night snack ‘creation’ leaves people wanting to call the police

A man has left people both intrigued and appalled by his unusual late night snack 'creation.' We all have our go-to snacks and comfort foods for the midnight hours or after returning from a night out. Some go for chips and cheese, others prefer pizza or garlic bread. But I'm not sure there can be many who go for the combination of Jaffa Cakes topped with a lump of cheddar cheese. Well, that's what one person loves to chow down on after a gig. They took to Reddit to share their culinary creation, writing "Behold my post-gig creation: Cheese and Jaffas" alongside a photo of the offending items. The shocking creation involves sliced cheddar cheese on top of a Jaffa Cake. The combination prompted a strong reaction from many, who thought this was taking the idea of a sweet and savoury combo too far. "I've called the f****** police," one person wrote, while another joked "Begone foul demon whence you came".

Another commenter wrote "Take this abomination away" before someone else added "There are some sick ppl in this world! You need help my friend!" It doesn't seem like the man in question is alone in wanting to combine Jaffa cakes with unusual toppings though, and there was arguably a much more horrific creation in the thread below. "My father has cucumber slices with Jaffa cakes, you and him are two peas in a pod that need to be locked up somewhere far away from civilisation", one Reddit user wrote. No thank you. But others could see the logic behind combining sweet and savoury, pointing out that it is not combining cheese with fruit or sweet chutneys is pretty common. One person said: "Not too bad, very similar to cheese and fruit cake, but with a slightly citrusy aftertaste and a lot less stodgy". "Like a mini cheesecake. I'd absolutely eat this without hesitation", another added. And a third wrote: "Now I'm wondering what dark chocolate digestives and Stilton would be like?" Now that certainly is a step too far.
