Stranger Things kids are just as awkward discussing *that* scene as you’d expect

Awkward Things

Nooruddean Choudry

Sorry about the vague headline but we don’t want to give any spoilers away.

So, if you’re reading this and haven’t yet started/finished watching Netflix’s latest must-see series, firstly, why the hell not, get a a move on damn it, and secondly, you may want to stop reading here because there’s slight spoilers ahead – albeit not major ones…

Right, now they’ve gone, you’ll be aware that Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven/El in the show) and Finn Wolfhard (Mike) experience a rather tender moment together in the eighth instalment of Season One, entitled ‘Chapter Eight: The Upside Down’, when the pair share a brief kiss.

Now, as youngsters in American shows are often depicted by far older actors, you’d be forgiven for assuming the junior members of ‘Things are simply baby-faced actors in their late teens, but you’d be mistaken. The main gang of kids were between 11 and 12 when the show was filmed a year ago.

As such, it is perhaps no surprise that they were embarrassed, awkward and reassuringly juvenile about doing something as disgusting as kissing a member of the opposite sex for the hit show.

Appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Finn Wolfhard were half cracking up and half pulling faces recalling the romantic scene. Although amusingly, Finn seemed to enjoy it rather more than Millie.

Check out the sheer awkwardness below…
