Turning the street blue.

If you were watching tonight's episode of Coronation Street, you might have noticed that David Platt used a swear word. In case you missed it, here's the gist of the story. Devastated David is obsessed with getting revenge on Clayton, who stabbed his beloved Kylie to death. His mother and siblings are growing increasingly worried about him and in tonight's Corrie, he was locked in the local restaurant's cellar as they tried to figure out what to do. Of course, he freaked out when he realised he was trapped and shouted:
"Let me out so I can kill the bastard!"
People have taken to Twitter to question why the derogatory slur was used before the 9pm watershed. https://twitter.com/HylandIan/status/788817301701287936?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/_cammurray/status/788856047318528003 https://twitter.com/Benbo17/status/788814315054825472 https://twitter.com/ActualAlexLewis/status/788814095822753792 https://twitter.com/ourrachblogs/status/788814066764681217?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/SamizzlePhizzle/status/788814989242970113?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/CMcLaughlin14/status/788822838270685184?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw However, others found a funny side to it. https://twitter.com/Jimmy_McNeil1/status/788830114175913984?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/KyaD28/status/788829481121251328?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/adam_firth/status/788822517246984196?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
