The BBC is a well-oiled, slick operation…well, 99% of the time.
But when this veneer of unimpeachable respectability slips for a second, it’s highly entertaining.
Who could forget the time weatherman Tomasz Shafernaker was filmed giving the middle finger to one of the presenters, or when dependable Bill Turnbull dropped the C-bomb on breakfast news? Classic television.
But it was one of the BBC programme announcers’ turn to make a balls-up…right before the hugely popular Great British Bake Off.
His phone goes off mid-flow and everyone can hear it except him; when he does finally clock on, it stops his intro in its tracks.
Still, at least he didn’t say f**k or bugger.
