Ryan Reynolds filmed himself getting a colonoscopy to raise awareness and it turned out to be 'life-saving'

The pair said they underwent the procedures on camera following a bet.

Wrexham FC chairmen Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney both recently underwent colonoscopies on camera that turned out to be "potentially life-saving". This was in a bid to raise awareness of colon cancer and to show that the best way to prevent the disease is by getting a colonoscopy. Reynolds also stated: "Rob and I, we turned 45 this year and part of being this age is getting a colonoscopy. "It's a simple step that could literally, and I mean literally, save your life." We then see Reynolds enter a hospital for his colonoscopy and his doctor telling him after the procedure: "You did such a good prep that I was able to find an extremely subtle polyp that was on the right side of your colon. The doctor later said to viewers: "I just cut it off at the snare and it's gone. "You are interrupting the natural history of a disease... a process that could have ended up developing into cancer and causing all sort of problems. "This saves lives pure and simple." We then also see in the video McElhenney going in for the procedure and being told after that doctors found three small polyps in his colon. "They were not a big deal but certainly a good thing that we found them early and removed them," his doctor said.
