Many of us are feeling a hugely unsettling mix of emotions after waking up to news that Donald Trump is going to be the next US president.
And that’s just in this country.
Imagine what it must be like for so many people in America? Especially if they happen to be a woman, gay, black, Latino or any of the other groups Trump has shown such scant regard for.
For them the next four years must an utterly terrifying prospect.
But the fact remains that America is still an awesome country, no matter who’s in the Oval Office.
The Late Show host Stephen Colbert’s reaction to the news of Trump’s victory is a superb, uplifting reminder of that.
