A British filmmaker who worked on the original Star Wars trilogy has raised more than £20,000 in one day as he looks to make a feature length version of a lost short film
Roger Christian, who won an Oscar for set decoration on the original
Star Wars film, has begun crowdfunding his 'Black Angel' project on
indiegogo, raising more than $32,000 (£21,000) in the first 24 hours.
The original
Black Angel short film first aired before cinema screenings of
The Empire Strikes Back in 1980, and resurfaced after more than 30 years.

Some big names have already been secured for the feature-length version, including John Rhys-Davies, who played Gimli in the
Lord of the Rings trilogy.
And for any huge
Star Wars fans with deep pockets, a $20,000 donation to the
Black Angel project will earn you an original negative from the first film. Pretty good timing, with Episode 7 not all that far away.
