The fish is one of the most expensive aquarium pets in the world
A husband has been left shocked after his wife deep-fried his pet fish because he refused to clean its tank.
Mia Kurniawan shared the frying on her TikTok account where she posts under the handle @miakurniawan01. The video has since racked up a huge 6.7 million views and over 180,000 likes.
Kurniawan said she had been asking her husband to clean the fish tank for weeks, which was home to his pet Arowana, a large shiny fish that is the most expensive aquarium fish in the world – according to National Geographic.
Apparently, she would often end up cleaning the tank for him despite her pleas.
So she finally lost patience and resorted to rinsing, scaling, seasoning and frying the fish to eat, filming the entire thing and sharing it on TikTok.
Her caption reads: “This is because my husband kept promising to clean the aquarium after I told him to, therefore I did it myself.
“However, the fish got sick in the end. I thought it would be delicious if I fried it.”

She says that she only decided to take this drastic measure because the fish had become ill.
Her husband was understandably a bit upset at first, according to news site Coconuts – but apparently he has since found the funny side of his spouse’s rather shocking act – and isn’t angry at his wife.
