It’s never fun to have your stuff stolen, but Christmas is probably the worst time to find you’ve had your phone or wallet pinched.
That’s why stage performer Lee Thompson has teamed up with Nationwide Building Society to warn members of the public just how easy it is for thieves to take advantage.
The video below reveals the distraction techniques favoured by pickpockets, with 442,000 such incidents reported in the past 12 months in England and Wales at a loss of around £190 each time.
