The listing is currently up on Rightmove, and was reduced from an even higher price earlier this month.

The outhouse is located in south east London, 'equidistant to Abbey Wood and Plumstead underground stations'.

We're all aware that the London rental market has been spiralling out of control for years, but this case in particular shows just how ridiculous it has gotten.

The property is described as an 'outstanding studio annexe', but many on social media have pointed out that it's merely a garden shed that has recently been clad in wood.

The images show an open plan living room, bedroom and kitchen, with a bathroom that you'd do well to fit two people into, with a corner shower.

You can access the property via a side gate next to the main house, where your landlord can wave to you from their kitchen window.

Frestons, the estage agent in charge of the lease, is asking for a £1,614, as well as an initial holding deposit of £322.84.

A description of the property on Rightmove said: "Frestons are pleased to market this outstanding studio annexe in Abbey Wood, SE2.

"Equidistant to Abbey Wood and Plumstead stations, the property is superbly located to benefit from quick and easy travel across the city, as well as the many amenities Abbey Wood and Plumstead have to offer.

"Briefly comprising bedroom and living space, kitchen and bathroom, the studio benefits from a large garden and parking. Offered to market immediately, early viewings are highly recommended."

The advertisement was shared on the popular SpottedonRightmove Subreddit, where shocked users of the site blasted the owners of the property.

One person wrote: "Ah yes the large wooden garden where you can sit on your planter and wave to the landlord.

"This is the kind of place that's ideal only for the owners almost grown kid, or visiting relatives.

"To charge that kind of money for an out building at the bottom of your garden is obscene. Cheeky greedy fucks, I hope no-one even views it."

Another joked: "I wonder how much they’re renting the dog house for."

One other person commented: "Oof. Could at least make it not look like a shed. Its the most shed-like shed I've ever seen.

"All for just 3x my mortgage (up North...).

"I used to live in an annexe in Cambridge, but it was a proper one, made of brick, was rather nice."
