Marcelo’s contract expires this summer
Footage of Real Madrid defender Marcelo appears to show him less than impressed with the way the club have treated him ahead of his imminent exit.
The left-back is set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer and could play his final game for the club in the Champions League final on Saturday.
However, the Brazilian, who has been at Madrid since 2007, has seen his playing time drastically reduced this season. Despite this, the 34-year-old still wants to remain at the club.
Marcelo was seen speaking to teammate Lucas Vazquez about his frustrations
In a video shared by El Dia Despues, Marcelo can be seen speaking to teammate Lucas Vazquez on the substitute’s bench during Madrid’s game against Real Betis.
While Marcelo came off the bench in the 70th minute for Ferland Mendy, it didn’t stop him from expressing how frustrated he has been with the way he has been treated.
“The club is not going to renew me,” he is seen telling Vazquez. “I have been a f***ing example!”
“It’s just amazing,” the Spain international replied. “We’re not… we’re not aware. But the moment (of farewell) is not easy.”

After the game against Betis, Marcelo reiterated his desire to remain at the club.
“I want to stay and continue here all my life,” he said. “Hopefully my story with Real Madrid doesn’t end here.”
The 34-year-old has enjoyed a glittering career with Madrid
Marcelo is ranked as one of the most successful players in the club’s history. The left-back boasts four Champions League trophies, six LaLiga titles, four Club World Cups, five Spanish Supercopas, three UEFA Super Cups and two Copa del Rey titles in a sensational career for Los Blancos.
