Worcestershire teenager has been banned from an entire town for three years following a string of complaints from local businesses, residents and people online.
Keylan Evans, 14, was handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) for "causing a significant amount of distress and harassment to local businesses, members of the public and the wider community",
according to West Mercia Police (WMP).
The local authorities were forced to take action following a string of complaints from the wider community which included regular anti-social and threatening behaviour, as well as online abuse. Following a court case last week, Evans is now forbidden from entering the town of Kidderminster until May 2025.
Originally from Stourport-on-Severn in the north of the county and just a few miles south of the historic market town he is now banned from, Evans is also now prohibited from being in a group of more than three people in public aside from his immediate family, according to Worcester Magistrates' Court.
The court has also placed restrictions on behaviour and communications, though the exact details of these measures are yet to be released. A spokesperson for WMP warned that “should he breach the order, he could face a fine or a prison sentence.”
Sergeant Daniel Townsend went on to add: “This order will hopefully prevent him from acting in this manner in the future. I hope the CBO provides reassurance to the local community that the police will take positive action in these situations.”
