Matt Hancock resigns as health secretary

Matt Hancock has resigned as secretary of state for health after photographs and video footage of him kissing his aide, and thus breaking Covid-19 restrictions, were published by the Sun this week. Hancock posted a video statement to Twitter, explaining his decision. "I've been to see the prime minister to resign as secretary of state for health and social care," he said. "I understand the enormous sacrifices that everybody in this country has made, that you have made.
