Which jobs are likely to drive you to drink?


A hard-earned pint after work is one of life’s simple pleasures, but some, who struggle with the stresses and strains of the job, may enjoy it more than others.

That’s according to a new Washington Post survey, which looked at the correlation between heavy-drinking and drug use and a person’s profession.

If you work in the mining industry, then you’ll probably know one of the 18% of miners who are classified ‘heavy drinkers’ – which is defined as having five or more drinks in the same evening.

JOE is now picturing a bar full of burly miners drinking cosmos.

We’re also happy to report that teachers and nurses are a shining example to the rest of us because they are the least likely to be heavy drinkers. Hmmm…
