Wolf from Gladiators is still absolutely shredded at 63 years old

Ben Kenyon

Once a Gladiator, always a Gladiator.

It was the greatest show on TV in the 90s – and possiby ever. But if you thought the Gladiators had gone soft since the show started more than 20 years ago, you’d be dead wrong.

The likes of Rhino, Saracen and Shadow were hand-picked because they were some of the biggest, fastest, strongest guys around – and they’ve not let it slip in the intervening years.

Hunter is still very much the machine he was in the 90s – and judging by these photos you still wouldn’t fancy your chances against him on The Wall or Hang Tough.

But if you think that’s impressive just take a look at Wolf – the man everyone loved to hate.

Wolf (who’s actual name is Michael Van Wijk) was every inch the Gladiators baddie, winding everyone up with his poor sportsmanship and bad attitude.

But since the show finished in 1999, TV ‘Mr Nasty’ Van Wijk has kept himself in incredible shape.

He is still bodybuilding even though he turns 64 this year and he even runs ‘Wolf’s Gym’ in Auckland, New Zealand if you’re ever in the neighbourhood.

He still trains five times a week and used to be a cage fighting mixed martial artist and won medals in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at national level in New Zealand.

Still a beast.
