As another summer looms into view, so does another Love Island series

The release date for the new series of Love Island has been confirmed, and fans won’t have long to wait before a return to the villa.

Series 11 of the hit ITV dating show will be starting on Monday, June 3, just over two weeks away, with the first episode launching across ITV1, ITV2 and ITVX.

The rest of the series will then run throughout the summer on ITV2.

The series will once again be hosted by Maya Jama, who took over presenting duties from Laura Whitmore last year.

Speaking about how for the first time the series will launch across ITV, a source told the Sun: “ITV want to throw their weight behind Love Island and make sure it has a big, glitzy moment when the 11th series kicks off next month.

“Showing it across every channel means creating what they hope will be a big TV moment. It shows there is still a real commitment to the format even nine years on.

“Using the full might of ITV means reaching every demographic, including the crucial 16-34s.”

A similar strategy was used by the broadcaster for the return of Big Brother last year, with the opening episode of the reboot getting 2.5 million overnight viewers.
