The forward’s family home was broken into on Monday
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has broken his silence after confirming that his family home had been burgled in the early hours of Monday morning.
The Barcelona forward also revealed that he was left with a broken jaw as thieves tried to take his possessions while he was in the house with his wife and two children.
Aubameyang posted an update on Instagram on Wednesday and said that the ‘feeling that he and his family are no longer safe in the house’ is “hard to understand.”
“Hey guys, thanks a lot for all the messages,” he wrote.
“On Sunday night, some violent cowards broke into our home and threatened my family and my children, just to steal some stuff.
“They injured my jaw but I will recover in no time and thank God no one else was physically harmed.
“The feeling that we are no longer safe in our own house is hard to understand and describe, but as a family, we will overcome this and stand stronger than ever.
“Thanks for all the support, it really means a lot to us.”

The incident took place in the early hours of Monday in the town of Castelldefels, near to Barcelona, at 01:00 local time – just hours after Aubameyang had been an unused substitute in Barcelona’s game against Real Valladolid.
Chelsea have been linked with making a move for the Gabon forward but talks have stalled, with the club now looking at taking the striker on loan instead of agreeing a permanent deal like it had originally been planned.
The Blues confirmed the arrival of Wesley Fofana from Leicester City earlier on Wednesday afternoon for a fee nearing £70m.
