Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden fall for prank in FIFA ratings reveal video

Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden were gobsmacked by Kyle Walker's apparently low pace rating on FIFA 22 before discovering the truth

“He is the fastest player in the world.”

FIFA’s annual release of players’ ratings has inevitably caused a stir. From Cristiano Ronaldo being the third best player on the game, to Mason Greenwood not even reaching the 80 mark, fans are fuming that their favourite players have supposedly been underrated by EA Sports.

Some frustrations are of course more justified than others, and the whole issue is largely subjective. But one thing that shouldn’t be up for debate is how fast Kyle Walker is. He might be 31, but the Manchester City defender remains one of the fastest players in the Premier League.

Walker’s stats were revealed to his teammates Kevin de Bruyne and Phil Foden in a video posted to Man City’s YouTube channel – or, we should say, a version of his stats…

When confronted with a card that contained a 78 pace rating, they were dumfounded to see Walker’s face on the card.

In fact, they were so shocked that Foden got up from his chair and walked towards the door. De Bruyne remarked that the card must be fake.

“That’s a fake one,” the Belgian said, laughing in bemusement. “He’s the quickest player in the world.”

And he was right, it was fake. To their relief, the midfield duo were then presented with his real card that rated Walker’s pace at 92. Thank God for that.

FIFA 22 is due for release on October 1st.
