Man United fans fume over Mason Greenwood’s low FIFA 22 rating

Man United players' FIFA ratings have been exclusively revealed by Mark Goldbridge, and fans are fuming at Mason Greenwood's stats

Even for a 19-year-old, it does seem a bit low

It’s that time of year again when football fans react with excitement and fury at their favourite players’ ratings on the soon-to-be-released FIFA game.

The top 22 players on the game were unveiled on Monday, with Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo in the top three.

And some more player ratings have been exclusively reported by Manchester United fan and streamer Mark Goldbridge, with a healthy number of United’s squad in the high 80s.

Bruno Fernandes has been given an 88 rating, with Jadon Sancho, Paul Pogba, Raphael Varane and Marcus Rashford all between 86-87.

However, one rating seemed to grate on fans. Despite his bright start to the season, Mason Greenwood has been given a slightly harsh rating of 78, seven points below Rashford and nine points below Sancho.

Unsurprisingly, United fans aren’t too happy about it.

The most common observation among the disgruntled gamers was that Fred, of all players, was given a higher rating than Greenwood.

Another Twitter user wrote “Greenwood as a 78 is a joke.”

Many were also keen to point out the absence of Luke Shaw among this list of United players. You would expect that Shaw is given the mid-80s rating he deserves and has not fallen behind Greenwood after his spectacular Euros campaign and explosive start to this season. The same going for Harry Maguire.

FIFA 22 will be released on October 1st, and there will be many more fume-inducing ratings to come out in the meantime.
