Delivery driver divides opinion after eating customer’s food who didn’t tip

If there's one thing Brits really need to know before heading to the US, it's that tipping culture is very different.

Due to the minimum wage being much lower across the pond, tipping is much more than just a kind gesture like it is in the UK.

Not only is it expected that a customer tips, but anything less than 20 per cent of the bill is also considered pretty stingy.

It's not just reserved for restaurants though, with tips expected in bars, cafés and to delivery drivers.

In fact, delivery app DoorDash even warns customers that if they don't tip their driver in the app their food is likely to take longer to be delivered.

Recently, one DoorDash driver decided to get revenge on a non-tipping customer by taking a bite of their food.

In a video on TikTok, the driver, who goes by SideHustleAddict, decides to take a look through the person's order.

He says: "Oh s**t, look what we got today, fam, haha! A DoorDash non-tipper again.

"Oh man, yesterday DoorDash was doing a reminder for DoorDash non-tippers to tip or else you're gonna wait like 3 hours for your Taco Bell, at least.

"But apparently these DoorDash non-tippers didn't understand - let's see what he's got in the bag."

After pulling a hash brown, a steak breakfast chalupa and a sachet of apple sauce out of the bag, the worker says: "You know, I be telling these DoorDash non-tippers, right, no tip, I eat!"

His actions divided opinion in the comments on the post.

Whilst plenty of people reacted with hilarity to the clip, some weren't impressed with what they'd seen.

One person. wrote: "I would NEVER HAVE ANYONE DELIVER FOOD TO ME..THIS GUY IS AN ASS"

Another said: "Weird that he's doing this? Many people prefer to tip with cash or cashapp when the food is delivered that way the driver gets to keep all the money."

A third commented: "Happy I go And get my own food can’t be giving free money to people just driving"

And someone else wrote: "Hope you get fired bro, idk why you’d flex not doing your job"
