Wayne Lineker called out for ‘dodgy’ comment on Tommy and Molly-Mae’s baby news

Others said it was simply a comment about her parents

If you’ve not been on social media for the past few days, then the news that Love Island stars Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury welcomed their first child may have passed you by.

Indeed, the couple welcomed a baby girl who they have named Bambi.

In an Instagram post that has since garnered over 3 million likes, the couple shared the first glimpse of their daughter, and were met with tens of thousands of comments.

As the likes of Stacey Solomon, Gemma Owen and Maura Higgins led the celebrities sending their well-wishes to the couple, one comment however didn’t go down too well with fans, and it came from Wayne Lineker.

He wrote: “Amazing guys. Congratulations. That’s gonna be one good looking baby.”

Some fans called Wayne out for the comment, with many labelling it as inappropriate.

“I dunno mate seems a bit dodgy that,” one Instagram user told Wayne, quoting a scene from The Inbetweeners.

“Hahaha what a f***ing creep,” another declared, with a third simply adding: “Wrong un.”

Others, however, said that it was innocent, and merely a comment about her parents, who are attractive.

“You people in the replies are awful. It’s a birth announcement. Have respect,” one fan hit back at Wayne’s critics in the comments.

Another agreed, writing: “How is saying that the baby will be good looking weird?? Nothing weird about it atall both parents are good looking people it’s a comment to say the baby will inherit the beauty of them both …. that’s all!!”

Another comment that didn’t go down great with fans came from Tommy’s boxing rival Jake Paul, though it has now been deleted.

Jake wrote: “Just in time to watch your dad get knocked out”.

The comment was made in reference to an upcoming fight between Jake and Tommy due to take place in Saudi Arabia later this month.

Recently, Jake was criticised after he announced the birth of Molly-Mae’s daughter before the parents had a chance.

On Twitter last week, he wrote: “Tommy has no excuses now…Baby’s born.

“Money’s massive. Immigration no issue. Tyson promises he & Papa will make Tommy retire from boxing & change his last name if he can’t beat the YouTuber.

“Tmrw I’m coming to London to look at all 3 Fury’s in the eye & shake on that promise.”
