The vegetarian turned butcher who says eating meat helps the environment

Alex Roberts

Veggie to butcher is a not a well-worn route

You’re probably familiar with former meat eaters becoming vegan or vegetarian, but what about those who’ve gone the other way? Glen Burrows was a vegetarian for 25 years, but is now a butcher.

He says eating meat again has vastly improved his health, which was dwindling as a vegetarian. He also believes eating meat can help rather than hinder the environment.

Glen took us behind the scenes at his business, The Ethical Butcher, where they produce meat sourced via regenerative agriculture. This method of farming aims to give back rather than take away from the environment.
