The woman even went and got the manager

A blind man has detailed a tense encounter at the gym which saw an angry woman accuse him of staring before going to get the manager.

Pete Gustin, a voice actor and YouTuber with 1.29 million followers, described the moment in a video uploaded late last year. The clip has since resurfaced and is gaining traction on social media, with many questioning the woman’s common sense.

“I’m blind. If you know what those two words mean, then you’re much smarter than the girl who was screaming at me at the gym,” Gustin explained. “I’m standing there doing a tricep pushdown exercise and since I can’t see I’m just kind of staring off into space doing my thing.”

He then described how “halfway” through his routine, he heard footsteps getting “closer and closer.”

“Until all of a sudden, this woman is right up in my face going ‘I didn’t come here to be stared at’. ‘Ohhhh, I’m sorry, I’m blind’, I say to her,” he said.

However the woman didn’t care about his blindness and insisted he stop staring at her. Naturally, she went to get a manager.

Gustin was forced to show his ID card to prove he was blind, at which point the manager replied: “Okay, but you still can’t make other gym members uncomfortable by looking at them.”

Since it was posted in October, the video has racked up just under 40 million views.

“That actually p****s me off! You were the one being harrassed in that situation,” wrote one supportive fan in the comments.

Another added:”‘Idiots of the world, unite!’ Next meeting will be at the gym, where we’ll harass a BLIND GUY for STARING.”
