Snoop Dogg breaks silence after announcing he's 'quitting smoke'

‘There is a point in your life when you want to change your life’

Snoop Dogg has shared his first post on social media since announcing that he will be “quitting smoke.”

Snoop, real name is Calvin Broadus, made the announcement on social media yesterday (November 16), causing widespread shock.

Snoop is known for a long rap career starting from the early 90s into the present day, and has also starred in film and TV.

But to a younger generation, he is perhaps best known for his prolific blunt smoking.

Posting to X, Snoop wrote: “I’m giving up smoke. After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke.

“Please respect my privacy at this time.”

Snoop has since taken to Instagram following the announcement. In a post, he simply said: “Respect my privacy.”

Commenting on the post, one person said: “Y’all do realize snoop is 52 and there is a point in your life when you want to change your life around for the better of your family.”

Another said: “His personal blunt roller punching the air rn.”

A third wrote: “Uncle needs to be clear with us. I’m sure there’s hella things we ain’t know yet.”

Snoop has attempted sobriety from weed before, back in 2002, but he relapsed not long after.
