Tyson Fury says he will retire after Dillian Whyte fight

Fury said his fight against Dillian Whyte will be the last of a glittering career

Tyson Fury has said that he will retire from boxing after his heavyweight title fight against Dillian Whyte which is due to take place in April. An agreement for the fight between the British duo was met shortly before the deadline last week and the bout at Wembley Stadium will be the first time Fury has fought in the UK since 2018. The 'Gypsy King' had previously been linked with a heavyweight unification fight against Oleksandr Usyk, but Anthony Joshua refused to step aside after he activated a rematch clause following his defeat to the Ukrainian in September. Despite other rumours suggesting that Fury would fight the winner of the rematch between Usyk and Joshua after his face-off against Whyte, the 33-year-old dispelled the idea, instead claiming his next fight will be his last. "This is the final fight of my career, I'm retiring after this," he said at his press conference on Tuesday. "$150m in the bank, healthy, young, I'm gonna buy a massive yacht abroad. "He has definitely shown a white flag today," he said. "All this social media stuff, 'I'm not promoting the fight, I'm not getting involved in mind games.' "He's given me that much more confidence it's unbelievable. "He's terrified. He's definitely showing the white flag in my estimation of this fight. "The way he's going on about it, saying he doesn't want to go face-to-face, of course he doesn't, because he'll see that fire in my eyes and he'll think, 'I'm getting smashed to bits.'
