Thousands watch Pro Evolution Soccer stream thinking its Champions League final

Well and truly fooled

Thousands of people were left confused after they thought they were watching a live stream of the Champions League final on YouTube - only to realise it was a stream of the video game Pro Evolution Soccer. Over 3,000 people were fooled as they were led to believe that Liverpool forward Diogo Jota had put Jurgen Klopp's men in the lead against Real Madrid 19 minutes into the game. The only trouble with that was that in real life the score was 0-0 at that time and Jota himself wasn't even on the pitch in the first half, coming on as a second half substitute for Luis Diaz in Paris. An account posted a screenshot of the stream on Twitter with the caption: "More than 2000 people watch a stream, thinking they are ahead of the Champions League final." https://twitter.com/VibesFoot/status/1530642436170579970 Some people may have wished to continue watching as well as while the real game ended 1-0 to Madrid, courtesy of a Vinicius Junior strike, the video game version was a 10-goal thriller and finished 5-5. At the Stade de France meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti's men were heavily reliant on goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who put in an inspired performance to deny Jurgen Klopp's men a famous treble. The Belgian made history by becoming the first 'keeper to make nine plus saves in a European final and frustrated the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane with some incredible stops.
