‘What did I just watch?’
Will Smith has trolled the world after sharing a video in which he claims to be making an “official statement”.
But just what’s his official statement about? Well given the past seven days of perpetual headlines surrounding his and Jada’s surprise separation (SURPRISE!), one would probably assume that Will, sitting there in his nice warm blue jumper and jeans, was going to make a statement about that.
Wrong.
Instead Will, sitting on his bed in front of the fire, says: “I got something for you. Here’s the thing. So my opinion of the…”
At this point Will feigns a sneeze, a sneeze so powerful it sends the camera spiralling backwards into a sort of psychedelic spiral of landscapes and nature.
It’s pretty bizarre I won’t lie.
Most fans seemed to love the video, with one saying: “Always good to zoom out and look at the bigger picture” while another said: “This is the only correct opinion.”
Others, however, believe the video shows a broken man pointing fun at himself.
Being more serious about his separation from Jada, Will penned a letter earlier this week to Jay Shetty which was read out on his podcast with Jada.
Will wrote: “I just turned the final page of Worthy. It is amazing to realise that despite having lived most of my life by your side, I still found myself shocked and stunned and caught off guard, laughing, then inspired, then heartbroken. I was all over the place.”
He continued: “It’s one thing to hear anecdotes at a family barbecue, but it was truly overwhelming to take in your story, potently condensed in this way.”
Will added: “I know it wasn’t easy to excavate the depths in that way. I applaud and honor you. If I had read this book 30 years ago, I definitely would have hugged you more. I’ll start now. Welcome to the Authors Club. I love you endlessly. Now go get some Merlot and take a rest.”
Responding to the letter, Jada said: “He knows I can’t have no Merlot! That’s beautiful. That’s why I can’t divorce that joker.”
She added: “To hear him say that he would have hugged me more is me hearing him say he would have taken a bit more time to listen and understand.”
