People have suggested that the UK's Eurovision chances were 'sabotaged' by issues that affected Olly Alexander's performance during the final.
Eurovision 2024 took place on Saturday night, and saw Switzerland claim the title this year. Singer Nemo won with their song The Code, which was a mix of opera and hip-hop and was based on their journey to embracing their non-binary identity.
But it was a familiar tale of Eurovision disappointment for the UK, with Alexander finishing in 18th place with his song Dizzy.
And whilst the song got 46 points from the jury vote, it received zero points from the public.
Brits at home couldn't believe Alexander had been given no points by the public, and jumped to defend the Years and Years star.
One person said: "I’m sorry but @alexander_olly definitely didn’t deserve 0 votes from the public just wow. #Eurovision2024."
Another wrote: "Well that’s awful and disgusting he deserved better really 0 points your having a laugh. Be proud Olly we love you."
Someone else penned: "OLLY ALEXANDER DID NOT DESERVE THAT! #Eurovision2024."
And others reckoned Alexander's chance had been negatively affected by technical issues during his live performance.
Some fans claimed there had been sound issues during his performance, and said it amounted to "sabotage," the Daily Express reports.
"What is wrong with the sound suddenly #EUROVISION sabotage" one person fumed.
A second commented: "Hmm why is the sound different for #ollyalexander #uk ??? #Eurovision2024 #eurovision."
Someone else penned: "Great staging, but terrible sound production."
