Trump says he’s ‘100%’ thinking about running for president again in 2024

Donald Trump has given his clearest indication yet that he doesn’t plan on leaving politics anytime soon, after saying that he is “100 per cent” thinking about running for the presidency  again.

Per the Independent, Trump was speaking to Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business and was directly asked about his plans for 2024.

He was asked by host Bartiromo: Are you thinking about running again Mr President in 2024?”

Trump replied: “Yes, 100 per cent.

“And the polls show that everyone wants me to do it. 100 per cent I’m thinking about running.

“We will I think be very successful.”

Trump was speaking in response to President Joe Biden’s address to Congress to mark his first 100 days in office.

In his address on Wednesday evening, Biden described his opening months as ones of “crisis and opportunity,” and declared that “America is rising anew.” He also set out his plans to revive the economy following the coronavirus pandemic and his aims to tackle the climate crisis facing the world.

And whilst the Republicans have already given their official response, it hasn’t taken long for Trump to deliver his verdict on the speech. He took to his favourite news network to give his view.

When asked by Bartiromo whether he would consider Florida governor Ron DeSantis as his next running mate, Trump only said that he was a “great guy” who he has a lot of admiration for.

He then told his supporters to continue to “have faith” in his Make America Great Again project, whilst bemoaning political fundraising rules and branding them as “ridiculous” when as for more details of his future campaigning activities.

In a typically nonsensical and rambling interview from Trump, he also described himself as the “father of the vaccine” and said that he (unsurprisingly) thinks he deserves more credit for the country’s coronavirus response.

He also claimed that Biden was “destroying” America with his immigration policy, incorrectly stated that “murderers” were flooding into the country from Central America, and most stupidly of all suggested that Democrats appeared to be “choking” on their face masks during Biden’s presidential address on Wednesday.

He said about Vice President Kamala Harris and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi: “It looked like they were choking last night, while he was speaking, I watched and I said ‘oh, they might [need to] get some air’, it looked like they were literally choking.”
