‘Public enemy number 2’ is still at large

US police have identified the woman they’ve dubbed the ‘poopetrator’ and have asked for the public’s help to track her down after she defecated in a store.

The woman – who has not been named – was identified visually by Wichita police earlier this week following a call out on their Facebook page asking for help in locating her. According to reports, the woman is wanted for a very unusual crime which took place in a US beauty store on May 10.

As detailed on CCTV, the mystery woman was spotted visiting the Mid-K Beauty Supply store on East 21st Street. Once inside, she proceeded to visit the bathroom aisle before proceeding to, well… actually go to the bathroom.

At least it wasn’t in the food aisle.

“Wichita, we need your help with a… unique case,” read the post issued by cops on the Wichita police Facebook page.

“We’re trying to identify the pictured female, who on May 10th entered a Beauty Supply store in the 2200 block of E. 21st Street and defecated in the middle of the aisle.

“Yes, you read that right.”

The post – which has since gathered over 3000 likes and 2000 comments – went on to explain: “The defecation was significant enough that 8 wigs were destroyed as a result, and the business would like to know who the poopetrator is so they can pursue criminal charges.”

Yup. Eight perfectly good wigs ruined by one senseless act.

Thankfully, the police clarified that footage of the crime – or ‘poopening’ as we might start calling it – is not available to view online: “The incident was captured on video surveillance, but for the good of all of you we are not posting the footage of the offending fecal assault.”

They even posted a rather timely quip in the comment section of their Facebook post: “We’ve already confirmed that this is NOT Amber Heard so please stop calling and emailing that info,” as reported by the New York Post.
