Indian Police have seized 48 terabytes of ‘largely adult’ multimedia from Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty’s home. This comes as officials investigate her husband’s alleged connections to illegal porn films.

Husband Raj Kundra, 45, was arrested on July 19 in Mumbai by police who said they have ‘sufficient evidence’ that he is a ‘key conspirator’ in a porn production ring. Kundra attended the raid with officers and then had his police custody was extended until July 27.

You might remember Shetty from the fifth series of Celebrity Big Brother, when she clashed with the late Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd and S Club 7 star Jo O’Meara. Goody claimed she could not pronounce Shetty’s name, which fuelled tension between the two. Goody was evicted not long after, while Shetty went on to win the series.

Ofcom had received 45,000 complaints about Goody’s remarks, but Big Brother initially tried to downplay the situation as a girly rivalry.

Now, Kundra allegedly lures women into making porn by promising potential acting roles.

Kundra’s wife, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, pleaded his innocence and insisted that business partner Pradeep Bakshi was actually responsible for the crimes. She claimed she was ‘unaware of the exact nature of the content’ but described it as ‘erotica’ rather than pornography.

Police are reportedly interested in discovering whether Shetty benefited from her husband’s alleged criminal exploits since she is the director of his firm Viaan.

After the allegations came to light, she resigned from the company, but police are probing if she received money generated from adult content.

‘Police is following what web series are doing these days – vulgar content. But that’s not really classified as porn. Nothing in this remand shows that two people actually indulged in act of intercourse. If it’s not actual intercourse, it’s not classified as porn,’ said Kundra’s lawyer Abad Ponda to NDTV.
