Moment single Ukrainian tank stops entire Russian column

The Russian convoy was eventually forced to retreat

Footage has emerged of the remarkable moment that a single Ukrainian tank took on an entire Russian convoy, and won.

Drone footage managed to capture the moment that the T64 tank attacks a number of armoured vehicles.

Whilst the first shot from the tank misses, the second hits and destroys its target. Unable to see where they are being attacked from, the Russian forces panic and start firing in random directions.

With their progress stalled, Ukrainian reinforcements eventually arrive and push back the invaders.

The Metro reports that the battle took place on March 31 during the liberation of Nova Bason, a town around 60 miles from Kyiv.

In recent days, Ukrainian forces have managed to push the Russian invaders out of areas surrounding the capital.

But it is thought that Putin will now turn his attention to the eastern regions of the country after the failure to capture Kyiv.

NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg praised the Ukrainian army for its “fierce resistance” and for pushing Russian troops back from Kyiv.

However he said: “Moscow is not giving up its ambitions in Ukraine. We now see a significant movement of troops away from Kyiv.

“To regroup, rearm and resupply. And they shift their focus to the east.

“In the coming weeks, we expect a further Russian push in eastern and southern Ukraine.”

So far, Russia is reported to have lost more than 18,500 soldiers and 700 tanks in the war.

It is expected that NATO allies will increase their support for Ukraine, sending anti-tank weapons, air-defence systems and increasing humanitarian assistance and financial aid.
