Instagram confirm reversal of recent unpopular update

Rudi Kinsella

We said it wouldn’t last long, but we didn’t expect this either…

Earlier on Thursday, Instagram users were furious with a new update that came up on their timelines.

People took to Twitter to complain about the update, begging Instagram to change it back to how it was beforehand.

And as it happens, Instagram listened.

In fact, they said that the update was actually never meant to take place at all.

A tweet posted by the official Instagram account stated that this was a “bug”, and that they were sorry for any confusion that was caused.

All we know is that we’re glad things are back to the way they were…

The new update appeared to make it so that you don’t have to scroll down anymore, and instead you can simply swipe to see the next person on your timeline’s picture.

The tagline for the update was “Tap through posts, just like you tap through stories.”

But luckily, all is right with the world once again.
