Musician Sam Mehran, popular as a member of Test Icicles, has died, aged 31

Sam Mehran, a member of electro-punk threesome Test Icicles, has died at the age of 31. His cause of death is not known.

Mehran played in the band from 2004 until their break up in 2006.

His death was announced on July 29 by the label of his current project, Outer Limits Recordings.

GunkTV Records’ Zak Mering wrote: “You will be sorely missed and loved by many forever, the most talented musician I’ve ever had the pleasure of being close friends with.

“I know you’re in a better place brother. You will not be forgotten.”

The band was formed by Rory Attwell, Sam Mehran and Devonte Hynes in 2004. Hynes and Mehran were both 18 years old at the time.

Test Icicles released their only album, For Screening Purposes Only, in 2005, featuring singles ‘Circle. Square. Triangle.’ and Boa vs. Python.’
