Kraftwerk are heading back to the UK next summer for two concerts, with the German electronic music legends set to perform in Halifax and Cardiff in the run-up to Glastonbury 2027.
Their first appearance is scheduled for 22 June at the Piece Hall in Halifax. The following evening, on 23 June, they will play Cardiff Castle as part of the venue’s DEPOT Live concert programme.
Tickets for both performances go on sale at 10am BST on Friday, 23 October.
Nick Saunders, founder of DEPOT Live, told NME that securing the Cardiff show was particularly exciting, as it represents one of only two UK dates planned for this run.
He praised Kraftwerk’s influence on electronic music and said the rarity of the performances would make the Cardiff concert an occasion for local fans and people travelling from further afield.
The group’s appearances come just days before Glastonbury returns from 23 to 27 June.
The festival has yet to reveal its 2027 headliners, though Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and The Rolling Stones are already attracting attention from bookmakers.
This year’s event also faced criticism over its increased ticket prices.
Both Kraftwerk concerts form part of wider summer programmes featuring a mix of established names.
Cardiff Castle is also due to host Blue, Ronan Keating, James Morrison, Jack Savoretti, Sonny Fodera and Slash alongside Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators.
Meanwhile, Halifax’s Piece Hall series will welcome Rick Astley, Kaiser Chiefs, Suki Waterhouse and Rudimental.
